Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup oats, dry roasted


  • 1/4 cup moong dal (split green gram), soaked for 2-3 hours


  • 1 small onion, chopped


  • 1 tbsp. ginger-garlic, grated


  • 1-2 green chilies, chopped


  • 2 tbsp. coriander leaves, chopped


  • 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder


  • 1 tsp. salt or to taste


  • 1/2 tsp. roasted cumin powder


  • 1/4 tsp. pepper powder


  • 1/2 tsp. nigella seeds (kalonji)


  • 3-4 tbsp. oil

Directions

  • Grind the soaked moong dal with very less water into a paste. Mix with rest of the ingredients (except oil) into a dough.
  • Divide into small equal portions and give any shape you desire. Refrigerate for a couple of minutes.
  • Heat 1-2 tbsp. oil in a pan and shallow fry these tikkis in batches till they are light golden in colour.
  • Drain on a kitchen towel and serve as an appetizer along with green chutney / sauce or as a tea-time snack.
